The words “Remember 9/11” are hardly necessary—how could we ever forget? In a few days Americans will be observing the 24th anniversary of September 11th, 2001. Some of the most televised events of that terrible day happened in New York City. Three skyscrapers collapsed in what looked like controlled demolitions—that is, straight down into their own footprints. World Trade Centers (WTC) 1 and 2 were each hit by a commercial airplane. Approximately 56 minutes after being hit, The South Tower, WTC 2 fell to the ground in about 11 seconds. The North Tower, WTC 1, followed 50 minutes later, avalanching in about 15 seconds.
Approximately three hours later, Dan Rather interviewed Jerome Hauer, “Terrorism Expert with Kroll Associates”:
Dan Rather: “Based on what you know, and I recognize we’re dealing with so few facts, is it possible that just a plane crash could have collapsed these buildings, or would it have required the, sort of, prior positioning of other explosives in the, uh, in the buildings? I mean, what do you think?”
Jerome Hauer: “No, I, uh, my sense is just the velocity of the plane and the fact that you have a plane filled with fuel hitting that building, uh, that burned, uh, the velocity of that plane, uh, certainly, uh, uh, had an impact on the structure itself, and then the fact that it burned and you had that intense heat, uh, probably weakened the structure as well, uh, and I think it, uh, was, uh, simply the, uh, the planes hitting the buildings, and, and causing the collapse.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enf947SIhj4
Five hours after the Hauer interview, at 5:21 pm, World Trade Center 7, which had not been hit by a plane, also imploded into its own footprint–without benefit of a speeding plane or burning jet fuel.
But why is this essay entitled “Remember Alfred Wegener? Was he one of the nearly 3000 people killed on that day?
No. He died during an Arctic blizzard in Greenland in 1930, a victim of harsh natural conditions, not of human cruelty. Alfred Wegener is famous for an idea that was rejected by the experts of his time, but which is now accepted by scientists everywhere. Here it is in a nutshell.
Once upon a time,
all the continents of the world were joined together in a huge Supercontinent we will call Pangea. Over time, gradually, Pangea broke apart and the continents moved to their present positions. The End
But that doesn’t explain why I have suddenly inserted Wegener in an essay about 9-11. What is the connection between Pangea and the World Trade Center? The answer is: Force.
“Show us the force that can move continents,” challenged Wegener’s contemporaries. “Show us the force that can cause three skyscrapers to collapse into their own footprints in a matter of seconds”, challenge those who reject the “Official Story of 9/11” (which is virtually identical to Jerome Hauer’s statement to Dan Rather).
What did Wegener’s critics mean by the word force?
There is a rule, a law, called the Law of Inertia, that says: “A body at rest remains at rest, and a body in motion continues moving at a constant velocity in a straight line unless acted upon by a net external force.”
In other words, A continent that is not in motion will not start moving unless some outside force makes it start moving. Not only that, but a continent in motion will continue moving in a straight line unless an outside force makes it change direction. Not only that, but the continent will not change its speed or stop moving unless an outside force makes it speed up, slow down or stop moving.
In Wegener’s day no one could name a force strong enough to move continents. Today’s scientists can.
Now let’s return to 9/11. There are many different forces that must be taken into consideration when designing and constructing a building. Architects and engineers must be able to prove that the building will not fall down on peoples’ heads. They do this with measurements and math. Drawings, pictures, models, animations, and computer simulations based on meticulous measurements and math can help people visualize the building plan; words, based on measurements and math, can help explain the building plan; but without the numbers, the plan is meaningless.
The same goes for the planned, controlled, explosive demolition of a building. This is accomplished by using the same building plan, but with opposite intentions. Demolition experts must be able to prove mathematically that a building will fall straight down into its own footprint in a matter of seconds without damaging surrounding structures.
Unplanned building failures can also be explained using the original building plan and mathematical calculations based on the Laws of Physics.
Sadly, after almost a quarter of a century, We the American People are still waiting for an explanation of the forces that caused the catastrophic failures of the World Trade Towers. We have been given words, pictures, and animations without real-world evidence or mathematical proof to back it all up.
